An AI clone is the combined face model and voice model of a specific real person, trained from source media (photos, video, audio) of that person. Once trained, the clone can produce new content — typically talking-head video — in the cloned person's likeness.
The term is sometimes used interchangeably with "AI avatar," but a clone is by definition a copy of a real, identified individual. Avatars can be entirely synthetic personas with no real-world counterpart.
In a done-for-you content context, the AI clone is the central reusable asset: one client, one clone, indefinite future content output without needing the client to film again.
Legitimate use of an AI clone requires explicit consent from the person being cloned. Cloning a real person without their consent crosses into deepfake territory and is illegal in many jurisdictions.
